The Black Forest Team

The team at Black Forest Labs consists of accomplished AI researchers and engineers with a strong history of creating foundational generative AI models across academic, industry, and open-source platforms. Their innovations include notable models like VQGAN, Latent Diffusion, and the widely used Stable Diffusion series for both image and video generation, such as Stable Diffusion XL, Stable Video Diffusion, and Rectified Flow Transformers. They also pioneered Adversarial Diffusion Distillation, enabling ultra-fast, real-time image synthesis.

Guided by the belief that accessible models promote transparency, foster trust, and drive collaboration across the research and academic communities, the team is dedicated to developing high-quality AI technology and making it available to as many people as possible.
